Of course, there is a certain amount of wisdom in being satisfied with what you already have ...instead of trying to gain more and getting nothing.

People eat birds, primarily chicken ...and most people think nothing of it, but if you have a hunting licence and you like to hunt small game, then it is often unpopular in many circles because it involves guns (and guns have become a very political issue). Yet, when I was young and on the farm, they cut the chicken's head off with an axe ...and that is rather violent to the chicken, yet however the chicken met its demise is usually not discussed.

But, a hunter who has a bird in his hand and sets it down to go after the two he sees in the bush, may not have seen the fox in the other bush ...and when he turns around after being unsuccessful in getting either of the other two birds, sees that the bird which he did have is now gone.

Now, that would rarely happen ...and any hunter would go after the other two birds. And obviously this is not a conversation for vegetarians.

Actually, this is also not a conversation about hunters either. If you know me, you may be a bit tired of me making so many conversations about the Bible, and would rather I talk about hunting ...but, that probably wouldn't go to well either, because I'm not a hunter, so I have to leave that conversation to someone else.

Now, I have to decide whether I use the 'birds' or the 'bush' part of my title. This is not political, so I'm not talking about Lady Bird, or much later two Bush individuals. Yet, I could mention Moses talking to a bush ...a burning, yet not burning one.

No, I'm not going with either of those ...and maybe what I do choose to go with won't work too well either, but I'm not stopping now.

Well, here goes ...there were two hiding in the bush, and it was not two birds, it was Adam & Eve. (Back then they hadn't coined the term 'lovebirds'.)

Why were they hiding??

Very few people where I live don't know why ...as of course, they were hiding because they went against what God asked them to do.

Why did they go against what God asked??

Well, that's actually two different questions, with two different answers. Eve went against what God asked because she was deceived, or more simply 'lied to'. And Adam's reason is not quite as clear.

And my thoughts go back to who he had in the bush with him ...who he was hiding with. I'm thinking he didn't want to lose Eve.

Eve was created for him, and likely he feared she'd be taken away. Adam's answer to God included his reference to 'the woman You gave me'. He obviously wanted to remain with her, as he followed her in going against God, but he may have thought the 'why' aspect of it. To what degree he understood the unlimited scope of God's understanding ...well, we don't know what Adam understood. But, we know that God knew Eve would fall for the deceit ...and God also knew Adam would follow Eve.

God created relationships, and designed the workings of relationships to be very significant to us ... and in a way that we should depend upon each other. The critical part of that is that we also together depend upon God.

Some people have said it was unfair of God to set an expectation for Adam & Eve when He knew they would fail. But, God also knew the serpent could not resist getting involved. And I actually feel that is more what it was all about.

I realize now that it would take an extensive explanation to go into detail over what I mean by that last statement ...and I'm not prepared to do that at this time. And though this was never intended to be an advertisement ...there is a book I wrote that covers that particular subject, and I might as well give you the title. It is called 'The Evolution of Confusion' 1 of 5, 'The Essence'.

So, if you are further interested ...there it is.

I am done here ...as I need a rest.

God bless you!!!
